Trump With a Massive Warning For GOP: ‘No More Money!’

According to Politico, the RNC sent out two emails on Friday asking supporters to donate so that their names could be added to a “thank you” card for Trump.

“President Trump will ALWAYS stand up for the American people, and I just thought of the perfect way for you to express your support for him!” reads the note. “As one of President Trump’s MOST LOYAL fans, I believe you are deserving of the great honor of having your name added to the Official Trump ‘Thank You’ Card.”

This clearly did not sit well with Trump. His new comment implies that he wants to contend with the RNC not only in terms of endorsing political candidates, but also in terms of campaign fundraising.

He added, “Send your donation to Save America PAC at DonaldJTrump.com.” “We’re going to get it all back better than ever!”

Trump’s attorneys last week sent a cease-and-desist letter to the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee for using his name and image for fundraising purposes.

The RNC defended its right to use Trump’s likeness Monday, according to The Associated Press. The former president and the three main GOP fundraising bodies have recently clashed on the subject.

J. Justin Riemer, the Republican National Committee’s chief counsel, told Trump lawyer Alex Cannon that the committee “has every right to appeal to public figures as it participates in core, First Amendment-protected political expression” and “will continue to do so in pursuit of these shared goals.”

Trump “reaffirmed” to RNC chair Ronna McDaniel over the weekend that “he approves of the RNC’s current use of his name in fundraising and other materials, particularly for our upcoming donor retreat event in Palm Beach, which we look forward to him participating in,” according to Riemer.

During the 2020 election, Trump and the RNC collaborated and raised money through a joint fundraising committee.

According to the Associated Press, Trump will speak at an RNC spring donor retreat in April and has told McDaniel that he wants to keep raising funds for the RNC and his own PAC.

According to The Hill, Trump has recently increased his criticism of Republicans who voted to convict him in his second impeachment trial, pledging to campaign in Alaska against Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

According to Newsweek, he also rebuked a Wall Street Journal editorial that challenged his value to the Republican Party after his 2020 defeat and other election defeats, including the Georgia Senate races.

The Wall Street Journal editorial page continues to advocate for globalist policies like bad trade agreements, open borders, and endless wars that benefit other countries while selling out our great American workers, and they fight for RINOS that have severely harmed the Republican Party,” Trump said in a statement.

“That’s where they’ve always been and will always be. Fortunately, The Wall Street Journal editorial is no longer of much interest.”
